The commissioners entered into a discus&ion asto where the signs were needed most. It was the thinking of the commissioners that a sign could be put up at the triangular park at Chestnut and Lathrope streets designating all points of interest in rtecreation. Commissioner Knecht is to look into this possibility and report back at the next meeting. . , Rose Garden - Commissioner Brennan reported she has met with the City Bea11tificat'ion Committee and they have given the Rose Garden 1st priority alåo, it is progressing. ~ ", -, Yacht Harbor - Commissioner Hanley reported that $18,000 has been received from the Port Commission for 24 new berths. The Engineering Department is holding the ~plans waiting for the State plans which are being changed. Co~issioner Hanley spoke with the City ~~ager ~d stated he received no cooperation. .... It was agreed among the commissioners thnt a letter he written to the City Manager requesting a meeting w~th the Manager and the City Planning Director to discuss too Yac~ narbor. There was a discussion on the six year plan S11b-committee. The commissioners were of the feeling that the cownittee was not staying with the recommendations of the Commission. Commissioners Tornell was appointed to talk with the City l'ianager and find out exactly what the plans for Parks and Recreation have been made by the six year plan committee. Recreation Commission was called to order by Chaiman ~~rice S~tzJ ~ 8:00 p.m. in too Conference Ro~ at the Veterans Memorial Buildi~. Also, he told what could be done with the cemetery for the future. He explained that it could be converted into a Nemorial Park or a playground. The State is ready to transfer title over to the city.
