"1 The regular weeting of the Park and Recreation Co~ission was called to order by vhairman J ame s Knecht at 8: 05 p.m. .in the Conference Room ~ the Veterans Memorial Bundi~. On roll call the following were present Chairman James Knecht, Commissioners; Catherine Brennan, Louise Tornell, Wally Harder, Maurice Schutz, Alyn Beals and Ray Lunny. Also, preaent were staff members Red Morton, recreation director and Pasco Balzarini, park superintendent. .... ~ M. S. C. that the minutes of April 6,1960 be approved as mailed. Dick wilkinson, pl1nning director was present. He talk on the present situation of the marlna project and the status the State has taken. The state feels it is not feasible for further development. It is 11p to the ci ty now to prove that it could be developed and would be profitable. The state is to let the city know definitely by Thursday or Friday what their decisio"n will be if it should be accepted the plans and specifications are ready for bid. Red Morton stated his feel,ings that if.: the state should deny the City the money the city should start building floats and improving the Yacht Harbor so as to gain some of the money we are now losing. Chairman Knecht appointed Corl1l11issioner Wally Harder .to work with the collnei 1 committee on the Yacht Harbor. PlJ.nning Dire ctor, \~ilkins on showed the comm.i ssion a plan being soomitted by the plaMing department on the proposed Co~unity Park. After^discussion it was agreed by the commission that they would stud.y the plan before making approval. Red Morton suggested working with a committee to finalize the ~. plans for Community Park.
