<br />Mezes Park with first priority and Community Park second. J.hese'
<br />courts are greatly needed by the recreation department to fit in
<br />with their summer program also, for use by adults.

<br />Manager regarding the directional signs and see what action can be

<br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called
<br />to order by Chairman James Knecht at 8:10 p.m. in the Conference Room
<br />of the Veteran's Memorial Building.
<br />
<br />On roll call the following were present, Ghrlr~ J~s Koocht,
<br />Commissioners Catherine Brennan, Louise Tornell, Maurice Schutz'J
<br />Al~ BeaU ~d Wally Harder. Noted absent was Ray WMY. Also,'
<br />presem were Alfred Morton, Pasco Balz~ini, Bill Shewry, J~
<br />Mackenhausen and Dick Wilkinson.

<br />Planning Director Dick Wilkinson discussed plans for the Yacht
<br />Harbor. He advised that. the Stanford crew wishes to construct a
<br />launching facility for lowering boats and crewman into the water,
<br />also that Showboat, Inc., is interested in maintaining a tioat at -
<br />the harbor, wi th facilities for restaurant and cocktail lounge, .
<br />and thebo~ would be used to trMsport passengers to Caoolestick Park.
<br />This op~ration would require a loading ramp, which the firm would
<br />construct themselves.

<br />M. S. C. Al~ Beals am Wally Harder fuat the Park and Recre~ion
<br />Commission recommend to the City Council that they proceed with the
<br />planning at the Yacht Harbor as far as the Stanford launching ramp and
<br />Showboat, Inc. is concerned. The Commission agrees in principle and
<br />location of these facilities, subject to t he working out of the
<br />final details. The Commission also suggests that a committee be formed,
<br />consisting of Wally Harder, Dick Wilkinson, Alfred Morton, Jo~ Mack-
<br />enhausen and a member of the City Council to consider questions regard-
<br />ing leasj~ng arrangements, berthing rates and plan revi sions.
