<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />243 <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION <br />January 4, '1961 <br /> <br />" . . <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order by Chairman James Knecht at 8:00 P.M. in the Conference Room <br />. of the Veterans Memorial Building. . <br /> <br />. On roll call the following were present, Chairman James Knecht, <br />. Commissioners; Catherine Brennan, Wally Harder, Louise Tornell, <br />Jim Slobodian. Also present were staff members Red Morton, Wm. <br />She wry, Pasco Balzarini, Don Di~itratos and Wilma Engebretson, , <br />Secretary, Recreation Department. Absent --Alyn Beals and Maury <br />Schutz. . <br /> <br />M S C Harder and Brennan that the minutes of the meeting of December <br />7 be approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Chairman Knecht read a letter from City Manager Neal in regard to the <br />Police fuuth Cl~ being built but the land trade (2nd & Bay) had fallen <br />through. . <br /> <br />M 5 C Brennan and Tornell to write a letter to City Manager Neal in <br />answer to a letter read by Knecht, and ask that a special joint meet- <br />ing of the Police Youth Group~and Park & Recreation Commission be held <br />January 18, at 8:00 P.M. infue Class Roæ of the Police ~parment, <br />also inviting the City Council. ~ <br /> <br />Chairman Knecht asked that a letter be written to L. H. Knittel in <br />answer to his proposal sent to the Park Department in regard to re- <br />zoning of RI. Chairman Knecht recommended that Harder and Beals <br />study s~e and report at January 18, special meeting. <br /> <br />Yacht Harbor - Wally Harder reported that the new marina plans have <br />not as yet been advertised for bid. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />- Report sent in by Maurice Schutz was read and it was decided that a <br />copy of same be sent -to City Manager Neal, members of City Council <br />and Planning Director Wilkinson. <br /> <br />Fun After Fifty - Commissioner Torne1l had nothing to report. <br /> <br />Rose Garden - Commissioner Brennan announced that the Rose Show <br />would be held April 21 through the 23rd in three rooms of the Veterans <br />Memorial Building. . <br /> <br />Chairman Knecht asked Jim Slobodian to bring a report on recreation <br />needs in the Friendly Acres area to the next meeting and asked that it <br />be put down as number 7 on the agenda. <br /> <br />C-ormnissioner Brennan is going on tour for three months, leaving~ 'some <br />time in March and Red Mort~n asked that a letter be written to the <br />City Manager asking to grant her a leave of absence. . <br /> <br />With no further business the meeting adjourned 9:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Wilma Engebretson <br />Acting Secretary <br /> <br />- ",,""_.--"'""~----'~---_.'-"-----'-" .- <br /> <br /> <br />". <br /> <br />. - <br />
