" <br /> <br />MINU'lE S <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />January 5, 1966 7:30 P.M.. <br />Veterans Memorial Building <br /> <br />1he regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman Alyn Beals <br />at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />On roll call, the following were noted present: Commissioners Alyn Be- <br />als, Ann Gooding, James Knecht, Jasper Sipes, Jack Stuart, Doris Thomp- <br />son and Bob Whitmore. Absent: None. Also Present: Recreation Direct- <br />or, Alfred Morton; Ass1t. Director, Bill Paulson; Ass1t. Park Supt., <br />Wm. Shewry¡ Administrative Ass1t. Fenton Mee. Absent: Park Super- <br />tendent, Pasco Balzarini - illness. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 1, 1965, were approved <br />as mailed, on motion of Commissioner Stuart, seconded by Commiss- <br />ioner Whitmore and passed. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Special Meeting of December 14, 1965, were approved, <br />on motion of Commissioner Knech~, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore <br />and passed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />Communications from City Manager, Howard Ullrich as follows: <br /> <br />1. Letter dated December 13,' '1965,- attaching copy of letter <br />da~ed Dec. 8, from Leslie C. Irwin, architect, to the City <br />Manager re alternate plans for L~shaped pool and regulation <br />pool at Hoover School, and referring same to Commission¡ <br /> <br />2. Letter dated Dec. 23rd to Chairman Beals re Park Study by <br />Mr. Sterling Winans and suggesting that Commission propose <br />members for a City Committee to include various civic groups, <br />school districts, etc., and that committee be formed prior to <br />time Mr. Winans commences field work now scheduled for April <br />1966; <br /> <br />q <br /> <br />3. Copy of speed letter, dated Dec. 16, fro~ City Manager to <br />Planning Department re their suggestion for park use of parcel <br />of land adjacent to YMCA property on Hudson Street and noting <br />that Park and Recreation Department heads felt that parcel is <br />not usable by their departments and including the recommendation <br />of City Manager that parcel be included for consideration in <br />Mr. Winans study and survey; <br /> <br />4.
