<br />, MSR:sh:4/23/75 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />JUL 14 1975 <br /> <br />0 R DIN AN C E <br />----------. <br /> <br />1639 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.6 OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY: RELATING TO EMERGENCY AND <br />DISASTER P-EL !r.:i' <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF RE:'>~.'lOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />§EC!lQ!L!.. <br /> <br />Section 10.6 of the Code of the city of <br /> <br />Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 10.6 <br />_..._- <br /> <br />powers and Duties of the Director <br />..-- .- <br /> <br />and Assistant QA:r;ector of - EmergencY.~d-<;~~. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />Director of Emergency Services is hereby empowered to: <br /> <br />U(1) <br /> <br />Request the city council to proclaim the <br /> <br />existence or threatened existence of a "local <br /> <br />emergency" if the city council is in session, <br /> <br />or to issue such proclamation if t.he city <br /> <br />council is not in session. Whenever a local <br /> <br />emergency is proclaimed by the director, the <br /> <br />city council shall take action to ratify the <br /> <br />proclamation within seven (7) days thereafter <br /> <br />or the proclar.¡;lt.ion shall have no further <br /> <br />force or effect. <br /> <br />"(2) <br /> <br />Request the governor to proclaim a "state of <br /> <br />emergency" when, in the opinion of the director, <br /> <br />the locally available resources are inadequate <br /> <br />to cope with the emergency, <br /> <br />"(3) <br /> <br />control and direct the efforts of .the emergency <br />organization of the city for the accomplishment <br /> <br />of the purposes of this chapter. <br /> <br />"(4) <br /> <br />DÜ ':,'ct cooperation between and coordination of <br /> <br />serviC".':":; and staff of the emergency organization <br /> <br />of the city: and resolve questions of authority <br /> <br />1639 <br />
