R E S O L U T I O N <br />No.8264 <br />MSR:dp:3/21/79 <br />RESOLUTION EVIDENCING DESIRE FOR CONTINUED OPERATION <br />OF "SECTION 8, EXISTING HOUSING PROGRAM" (TITLE II, <br />§8, HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974) <br />IN, AND DESIGNATING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE <br />COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS THE PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY <br />AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE SAID PROGRAM FOR AND ON <br />BEHALF OF, THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />ORIGINAL, <br />APR 2 1979 <br />WHEREAS, Title II of the Housing and Community Development <br />Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383, as amended (hereinafter called <br />"HCDA") requires that, as a condition of initial and continued <br />eligibility for Community Development Block Grants, cities and <br />counties have a Housing Assistance Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of its Community Development Block Grant <br />Program, the City of Redwood City has such a Housing Assistance <br />Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, in furtherance of its Housing Assistance Plan, the <br />City of Redwood City desires that a "Section 8, Existing Housing <br />Program," (Title II, §8, HCDA) operate within the incorporated <br />limits of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo <br />has been operating the "Section 8, Existing Housing Program," <br />within the incorporated limits of the City of Redwood City and <br />has tendered its services to continue as the Public Housing Agency, <br />as described in the HCDA, for the purpose of operating said <br />"Section 8, Existing Housing Program," for this City; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, to reaffirm its <br />official designation of the Housing Authority of the County of <br />San Mateo as the Public Housing Agency authorized to operate said <br />"Section 8, Existing Housing Program," within the incorporated <br />limits of the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />
