RD 06-02 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE REDWOOD CITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />SEEKING AUTHORIZATION FROM CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION TO PLACE DIRECTIONAL DOWNTOWN SIGNS <br />ON STATE HIGHWAYS 101, 84 (WOODSIDE ROAD) AND 82 (EL <br />CAMINO REAL) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency approved <br /> <br />the implementation of the Wayfinding Sign Program for Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the purposes of the Wayfinding Sign Program is to install <br /> <br />roadway signage directing first time visitors to Downtown Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency to install <br /> <br />directional "Downtown Redwood City" signs on State Highways 1 01 and directional <br /> <br />"Downtown" signs on State Highways 84 (Woodside Road) and 82 (EI Camino Real); <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, prior to installing said directional signs on State Highways <br /> <br />permission from the California Department of Transportation (CAL TRANS) is required. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF <br /> <br />THE REDWOOD CITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CAL TRANS is hereby requested to place directional signs at southbound <br /> <br />Whipple Street exit and northbound Woodside Road exit stating "Downtown Redwood <br /> <br />City NEXT EXIT" in each direction on State Highway 101. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />CAL TRANS is also hereby requested to place directional signs stating <br /> <br />"Downtown (with appropriate arrow)" in each direction on State Highway 84 and State <br /> <br />Highway 82. <br /> <br />AttyjReso./Reso.1598 <br />022206 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />RD 06.02 <br />Muff# 610 <br />
