06/26/2006 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE NO. 2299 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 38.5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO WATER SERVICE CHARGES AND FEES THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 38.5 of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: "Sec. 38.5. WATER SERVICE CHARGE: In addition to all other charges and fees applicable to users of water from the water system owned or operated by the City of Redwood City, as established by the Water Rules and Regulations of the Department of Public Works Services, as amended, and this chapter, residential and non-residential monthly water service charges shall be paid for each water service within the water service areas and at the rate and upon the effective dates as follows: (a) Residential Water Service Charge. A monthly water service charge for each dwelling unit or dwelling unit equivalent ("DUE") for each such unit used, or intended for use, as a single-family residential dwelling, irrespective of whether such service is furnished through a single meter for multiple dwelling units or through individual meters for each dwelling unit, is hereby established as follows: Water Service Area Service Charae Per DUE* Per Month Effective Date: 08/04/06 1,2,3,4,5,6 $14.25 *DUEs shall be determined as follows: (i) A single-family residence consisting of one (1) independent dwelling unit on a parcel of property shall be deemed 1 DUE; and (ii) Multi-family residences, consisting of more than one (1) dwelling unit on a parcel of property shall be deemed to consist of the number of DUEs deriveø from applying the following conversion table: Atty/Ord/Ord.262 052206 Ord 2299 formerly muff # 805
