<br />JHT: yc: 4/15/69 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />o R DIN A N C E <br />--------- <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />/';00 <br /> <br />!>lA, 5 'f3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.l47 OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO EXTENSION OF <br />TIME PERIOD FOR REMOVAL OF NONCONFORMING SIGNS AND <br />THE PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING APPROVAL THEREFOR <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.147 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 3.147 <br /> <br />The period specified in Section 3.145 <br /> <br />may be extended by motion of the City Council for an addi- <br /> <br />tional period not to exceed ten years upon application of <br /> <br />the person maintaining such sign if the Council finds that <br /> <br />such an extension is necessary for the preservation of <br /> <br />substantial property rights of the applicant. The application <br /> <br />for the extension shall be made in writing on forms provided <br /> <br />by the Building Inspector and shall be filed with the City <br /> <br />Clerk within ten days after notice given by the Building <br /> <br />Inspector of nonconformance of such sign with the provisions <br /> <br />of this article. Such notice shall be given in writing and <br /> <br />shall be mailed or delivered personally to each person to <br /> <br />whom the property on which the sign is located is assessed <br /> <br />on the last available equalized assessment roll, or to any <br /> <br />tenant of such property. The failure of any person to <br /> <br />receive any notice deposited in the mail shall not invalidate <br /> <br />any proceedings under, or the enforcement of any provision <br /> <br />of, this article." <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
