I~YJ.,) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3.123 AND 3.131 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATING TO BILLBOARD SIGNS <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.123 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 3.123 <br /> <br />Unless otherwise expressly provided <br /> <br />in this article, no sign shall be erected or used for <br />advertising purposes of any kind except such signs as shall <br /> <br />be located on a place of business, enterprise or calling <br /> <br />and used solely for naming, designating or identifying said <br /> <br />business, enterprise or calling. No sign shall advertise <br /> <br />or display the make, brand name or manufacturer' s name of <br /> <br />any product, article or service unless the same assists in <br />and is done incidentally to the naming, designating or <br /> <br />identifying of said business, enterprise or calling." <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 3 .131 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 3.131 <br /> <br />The provisions of Section 3.129 shal1 <br /> <br />not apply to any of the following: <br /> <br />"(a) Any sign so located that the matter displayed <br /> <br />thereon is not visible to persons or passengers in vehicular <br /> <br />travel on or upon any portion of the main traveled roadway <br /> <br />of a freeway. <br />II (b) Any sign on which the advertising is limited to: <br /> <br />"(1) Advertisement of the ownership, sale, or <br />lease of the property on which such sign <br />is placed. <br /> <br />II (2) The name of the person occupying the building <br />and the type of business conducted by such <br />person. <br /> <br />" (3) The name of the product manufactured on the <br />premises. <br />
