2/23/98 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13288 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING POLICY AND GUIDELINES FOR <br /> STOP SIGNS ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, stop sign criteria that are responsive to the needs of minor <br />residential streets have been recognized by numerous California communities as <br />a suitable traffic control measure for improving traffic safety under appropriate <br />circumstances; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, that certain document entitled, "City of Redwood City Policy <br />and Guidelines for Stop Signs on Residential Streets ", prepared jointly by City <br />staff and Smith Engineering and Management, of Union City, California, has <br />been presented to, and reviewed by, this Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Policy and Guidelines describes appropriate traffic <br />conditions and circumstances for stop signs applicable on minor residential <br />streets in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council desires to approve said Policy and Guidelines; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That certain document entitled, "City of Redwood City Policy and <br />Guidelines for Stop Signs on Residential Streets", including, without limitation, <br />the criteria set forth therein, prepared jointly by City staff and Smith Engineering <br /> <br />and Management, Union City, California, a copy of which document is on file in <br /> Reso-362 <br />Gtshared~redwood~council <br /> DES:djk <br />02/19/98 13288 <br /> <br /> <br />
