<br />SWC:djg-c 2/2/83 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9 302 <br /> <br />FES 2 8 1983 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION HONORING BOB ASBURY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the last 10 months Bob Asbury has served the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City as the volunteer Residency Director for CART <br /> <br />(Community Artist Residency Training); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in such capacity Bob has spent many hours attending <br /> <br />training seminars and community meetings, met with service clubs, <br /> <br />contacted many local residents, and attended the Civic Cultural <br /> <br />Commission monthly meetings from March 1982 through January 1983, <br /> <br />in his efforts to learn about, and bring CART's program to the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in a culmination of his efforts, Bob arranged for <br /> <br />a series of 8 "informances" and a public performance to be held <br /> <br />in Community Centers, Schools, County facilities, businesses and <br /> <br />the Community College, and worked closely with, and made arrange- <br /> <br />ments with the artist, Harry Streep, in order to make his stay in <br /> <br />Redwood City a meaningful and enriching experience for the <br /> <br />citizens, the audiences and the artist; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob's wife Dorothy also aided the CART program <br /> <br />greatly by her dedicated and enthusiastic support, her photo- <br /> <br />graphic talents and the opening of her home for meetings, and <br /> <br />for meals and hospitality extended to the artist; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because of Bob and Dorothy's total commitment and <br /> <br />ORIGINAL ON PARCHMENT PRESENTED TO MR.
