03/08/2010 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15001 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING THE LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City having developed a Local Hazard <br />Mitigation Plan meeting the requirements of Section 409 of the Robert T. <br />Stanford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and Section <br />322 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City recognizes the consequences of <br />disasters and the need to reduce impacts of natural and human caused <br />hazards; and <br />WHEREAS, the toll on families, individuals and businesses can be <br />immense after a disaster, both emotionally and economically; and <br />WHEREAS, time, money and the emotional effort to respond and <br />recover from these disasters diverting public resources and attention from <br />other important programs and problems. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City of Redwood City does hereby adopt the Local Hazard <br />Mitigation Plan pending plan approval by the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency. <br />HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read <br />and adopted at a Joint City Council /Redevelopment Agency Board meeting <br />on the 8 th day of March, 2010, by the following vote: <br />ATTY/RESO/RES0.1989 #15001 <br />030110 MUFF # 704 <br />
