07/28/2003

--

CARRINGTON HALL. CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
GRANT GUIDELINES

Amended July 28, 2003

1. The City of Redwood City ("City") will contribute up to a maximum sum of Two
Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000), for the renovation of Carrington Hall
located at Sequoia High School, in the City of Redwood City. City's obligation to
provide any funds shall be subject to the following terms:

a. Given that the City's contribution is to be part of a broader community
fundraising effort, said funds will be provided only on a dollar for dollar
basis as may be received by the Board of Directors of the Carrington Hall
Auditorium Rescue Operation ("CHARO").

b.

Up to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) of City's funds will
be used to match a grant from the Packard Foundation. The balance of
City's matching fund obligation will be limited to funds received from only
individuals, groups or businesses, and not from any other foundation or
governmental agency. No in-kind contributions (including in-kind
contributions from Sequoia High School District) of any type or character
received by CHARO, shall be used as a basis for determining City's
matching fund obligation.

.,--

c. City will only match those funds received by CHARO between July 1, 2000
and June 3D, 2004.

d. For purposes of this project, any fUf)ds to be considered "matching funds"
must be:

i. Received by Carrington Hall Auditorium Rescue Operation
(CHARO) Board of Directors (i.e., in hand, and not simply funds
which have been promised or funds sought by CHARO).

ii. Received by CHARO between the dates of July 1,2000 and June
30, 2004.

iii. Donated by individuals, groups, such as the Sequoia Alumni
Association, or businesses.

iv. All sums must be in the form of cash, check or money order.

2.

Upon CHARO having met the requirements of this Guideline for receipt of City
funds, CHARO may submit invoices to the City for City's matching sum.
