Cohen (the "Firm," "me" or "I") <br />for legal representation of the City of Redwood City (the "City"). This engagement letter will <br />document and confirm the attorney client relationship we have discussed between the City <br />("Client" or the "City") and the Firm and will serve as our contract for legal services. If this <br />agreement meets with your approval, please sign and return a copy of this letter to me as soon as <br />possible. The Firm will provide legal services to the City on the terms set forth below: <br /> <br />1. Scope of Engagement <br /> <br />You have requested that the Firm undertake the legal representation of the City as <br />follows: To provide advice and consultation in connection with assertions by Linda Warwick <br />that the City did not timely or properly disclose information to her about the lawsuit entitled <br />Roberta Mullin Carcione and Joseph W. Carcione Jr. v. Redwood City, Case Number CIV <br />463195. Ifnecessary, and if you direct me to do so, this engagement may also include the <br />defense of an action that may be filed by Ms. Warwick against the City. In general, the Firm's <br />professional services may include investigation, research and analysis of legal and factual issues, <br />analysis of applicable law, drafting and preparation of documents, review and comment on <br />documents prepared by others, written and oral communications with other parties and with you, <br />preparation of pleadings, law and motion and discovery practice, trial preparation, and <br />negotiations with opposing parties or their counsel, including mediation and/or settlement <br />discussions as approved by you and, if necessary, handling the case through trial to final <br />judgment. You authorize the Firm to do any and all acts that the Firm deems advisable or <br />appropriate in connection with such representation. <br />
