ATTY/RESO.0061/HRAC RESO 718 HOPKINS AVE <br />REV: 08-18-22 JB <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22-02 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING <br />APPROVAL OF PERMIT NO. AP2022-038 FOR 718 HOPKINS AVENUE <br />IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 40 OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Kevin Holmes (the “Property Owner”), has applied for a <br />Permit to construct a 183-square foot single-story addition to the existing single-story <br />residence (the “Project”) located at 718 Hopkins Avenue (the “Property”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Municipal Code (“Historic <br />Preservation Ordinance”), the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (“HRAC”) shall <br />review any application to tear down, demolish, construct, alter, remove or relocate any <br />improvement, or any portion thereof, which has been designated a historic landmark or <br />is within a historic district; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Property is located in the Mezesville Historic District which was <br />designated by the City of Redwood City (“City”) as a historic district in 2006 (City Council <br />Resolution Number 14723); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 15, 2022, a public hearing notice of the HRAC hearing was <br />published in the San Mateo Daily Journal and sent to the Property Owner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 25, 2022, the HRAC conducted a duly-noticed public <br />hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of State Law to review the permit <br />application and supporting material. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HRAC OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The HRAC hereby makes the following findings outlined in Section <br />40.10 of the Historic Preservation Ordinance: <br /> <br />A. In the case of any property designated a historic landmark, the <br />proposed work would not detrimentally alter, destroy or adversely affect <br />any exterior architectural feature; or <br /> <br />Not applicable, the property is not a historic landmark. <br /> <br />B. In the case of any property located within a historic district, the <br />proposed construction, removal, rehabilitation alteration, remodeling, <br />excavation or exterior alteration conforms to the prescriptive standards as <br />adopted by the Commission, and does not adversely affect the character of <br />the district; or <br />
