RESOLUTION NO. 17-03 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING <br />APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT NO. AP2017-026 FOR <br />735 HOPKINS AVENUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 40 OF <br />THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant, Glen Dobbs on behalf of Richard and Bonnie LeMar, <br />filed an application for an Architectural Permit to allow construction of a new 770 square <br />foot second -story addition to the single-family home located at 735 Hopkins; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council Resolution No. 14723, 735 Hopkins Avenue <br />is located within the designated Mezesville Historic District; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing structure located at 735 Hopkins Avenue is not a <br />"contributor" to the Mezesville Historic District and not considered a historic resource or <br />landmark; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Municipal Code <br />(Historic Preservation Ordinance), the Historic Resources Advisory Committee shall <br />review any application to tear down, demolish, construct, alter, remove, or relocate any <br />improvement, or any portion thereof, which has been designated a historic landmark or <br />is within a historic district; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 10, 2017, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br />(HRAC) of the City of Redwood City held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance <br />with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law, and the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code and Zoning Ordinance, to consider the permit application <br />and supporting material. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCE <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The HRAC hereby finds that the proposed addition, as designed, is <br />harmonious with and will not adversely impact the character of the Mezesville Historic <br />District. <br />Section 2. The HRAC hereby recommends that the Planning Commission <br />approve the Architectural Permit consistent with Chapter 40 (Historic Preservation) of <br />the Redwood City Municipal Code. <br />Section 3.
