<br />ATTY/RESO.0019/HRAC RESO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF ARC PERMIT – 2603 BROADWAY <br />REV: 04-28-2021 PR <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21-02 <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING <br />APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT NO. 2021-004 AND USE <br />PERMIT NO. 2021-001 FOR 2603 BROADWAY IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH CHAPTER 40 OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Greg Davis (applicant), on behalf of property owner <br />AT&T, with authorization from the property owner, has applied for an Architectural <br />Permit and Use Permit to replace and relocate existing wireless communications <br />equipment, and reconstruct new wireless communications equipment at 2603 <br />Broadway; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Downtown Precise Plan (DTPP), 2603 Broadway is <br />recognized as a Historic Resource to be preserved, and has standards and guidelines <br />for repairs, replacements, additions, alterations, and new construction at the subject <br />property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Municipal Code <br />(Historic Preservation Ordinance), the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) <br />shall review any application to tear down, demolish, construct, alter, remove or relocate <br />any improvement, or any portion thereof, which has been designated a historic <br />landmark or is within a historic district; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on April 29, 2021 a public hearing notice of the Planning <br />Commission hearing was published in the San Mateo Daily Journal and sent to the <br />Property Owner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 13, 2021 the HRAC conducted a duly-noticed public hearing <br />in accordance with all applicable requirements of State Law to review the permit <br />application and support material. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The HRAC hereby makes the following findings outlined in Section <br />40.10 of the Municipal Code: <br /> <br />A. In the case of any property designated a historic landmark; the <br />proposed work would not detrimentally alter, destroy or adversely <br />affect any exterior architectural feature <br /> <br />The art-deco features that define the building would not be altered, <br />destroyed, or adversely affected by the work proposed. The wireless <br />facilities would be screened by FRP, would be set back at least 10’ from
