ATTY/ORD.0009/CC ORD AMENDMENT TO PURCHASING ORDINANCE - ON-CALL CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENTS REV: 08-12-24 MI Page 1 of 5 ORDINANCE NO. 2541 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING ARTICLE VII (PUBLIC CONTRACTING AND PURCHASING) OF CHAPTER 2 (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council makes the following findings: A.The purpose of this amendment is to update the City’s procedures for contracting of public works projects where the construction work and performance are determined by issuing work orders during a fixed period of time, for specific kinds of work, and with a maximum total contract price. B.As a charter city, Redwood City may set forth its own rules for public contracting and it does so through its Charter and the Redwood City Municipal Code. C.The City’s procedures for competitive process on public works projects are set forth in the City’s Charter at Section 67 and also in Article VII of Chapter 2 of the Redwood City Municipal Code. Section 2. The Ordinance is not a project within the meaning of section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) Guidelines because it has no potential for resulting in physical change in the environment, either directly or ultimately. Section 3. If any section, subsection, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or sections of the Ordinance. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby declares that it would have adopted the Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional. Section 4. The City Council hereby adopts the following Redwood City Municipal Code amendments by adding the text shown in underline (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (example), as provided below. Section 2.63.2 of Chapter 2, Article VII of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
