ATTY/ORD.0009/CC ORD AMENDMENT TO PURCHASING ORDINANCE - ON-CALL CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENTS <br />REV: 08-12-24 MI <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2541 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AMENDING ARTICLE VII (PUBLIC CONTRACTING AND <br />PURCHASING) OF CHAPTER 2 (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE <br />REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council makes the following findings: <br />A.The purpose of this amendment is to update the City’s procedures for <br />contracting of public works projects where the construction work and performance are <br />determined by issuing work orders during a fixed period of time, for specific kinds of work, <br />and with a maximum total contract price. <br />B.As a charter city, Redwood City may set forth its own rules for public <br />contracting and it does so through its Charter and the Redwood City Municipal Code. <br />C.The City’s procedures for competitive process on public works projects are <br />set forth in the City’s Charter at Section 67 and also in Article VII of Chapter 2 of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code. <br />Section 2. The Ordinance is not a project within the meaning of section 15378 of <br />the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) Guidelines because it has no potential <br />for resulting in physical change in the environment, either directly or ultimately. <br />Section 3. If any section, subsection, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any <br />reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion <br />or sections of the Ordinance. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br />declares that it would have adopted the Ordinance and each section, subsection, <br />sentence, clause or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, <br />subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional. <br />Section 4. The City Council hereby adopts the following Redwood City Municipal <br />Code amendments by adding the text shown in underline (example) and deleting the text <br />shown in strikeout (example), as provided below. Wording in brackets ([example]) is <br />informational only and is not to be included in the published ordinance. <br />Section 5. Section 2.63.2 of Chapter 2, Article VII of the Redwood City Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
