ATTY/RESO.0066/PC RESO 1200 ARGUELLO (MILL ACT CONTRACT) <br />REV: 10-11-24 JB <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-08 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVE A HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGREEMENT (MILLS ACT <br />CONTRACT) FOR 1200 ARGUELLO STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Satya Chandrasekar (the “Property Owner”), applied for a <br />Historic Preservation Agreement (Mills Act Contract) (the “Project”) located at 1200 <br />Arguello Street (the “Property”); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Property is listed on the Redwood City Historic Inventory list and <br />on July 24, 2006, the Redwood City, City Council identified the Property as a contributing <br />property when designating the Mezesville Historic District area as a historic district <br />pursuant to the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 8, 2024, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee held <br />a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State <br />Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Municipal Code to consider the Project; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee recommended approval <br />of the 10-year schedule of Improvements and recommended a Historic Preservation <br />Agreement (Mills Act Contract) be approved for the Property by a vote of 4-0; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 20, 2024, a public hearing notice of the Planning <br />Commission hearing was published in the San Mateo Daily Journal, posted on the City’s <br />website, mailed to neighbors within 300 feet of the Property and sent to the Property <br />Owner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2024, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed <br />public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and <br />Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider <br />the Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Property and Applicant qualify for a Historic Preservation <br />Agreement (Mills Act Contract); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the residents <br />therein, that a Historic Preservation Agreement (Mills Act Contract) be approved to assist <br />in the restoration and preservation of the Property. <br />
