Proclamation <br />Honoring Alma Montalvo <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City recognizes the invaluable contributions of dedicated community <br />leaders who work tirelessly to advance housing equity, tenant protections, and the well-being of residents; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Alma Montalvo has faithfully served as a member of the Housing and Human Concerns <br />Committee (HHCC) since February 2012, demonstrating unwavering commitment to addressing critical <br />housing and community issues in Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, Alma Montalvo served with distinction as Chair of the HHCC from 2015 to 2017, and as Vice - <br />Chair from 2013 to 2015 and again from October 2024 to the present, providing thoughtful leadership, <br />collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of Redwood City residents; and <br />WHEREAS, Alma Montalvo played a key role as a member of the Tenant Protection Ad-hoc Subcommittee, <br />contributing significantly to the development of the City's Anti -Displacement Strategy and the subsequent <br />Tenant Protection Ordinance, helping to safeguard housing stability and support vulnerable residents; and <br />WHEREAS, Alma Montalvo also served on the Safe Parking Ad Hoc Committee, supporting efforts to <br />provide safe and compassionate solutions for individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity; and <br />WHEREAS, throughout her tenure on the HHCC, Alma Montalvo has contributed meaningfully to <br />important City initiatives, including the Anti -Displacement Strategy development and implementation, the <br />RV Safe Parking Program, the Housing Element, and the Tenant Protection Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, Alma Montalvo's dedication, leadership, and advocacy have strengthened the City of <br />Redwood City's commitment to equity, inclusion, housing stability, and community well-being. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, ELMER MARTINEZ SABALL OS, MAYOR OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the people of the City of Redwood City, do hereby <br />recognize and honor Alma Montalvo for her outstanding service, leadership, and lasting contributions to <br />the community, and extend sincere gratitude and appreciation for her many years of dedicated public <br />service. <br />Date: May 18, 2026 <br />Elinor Martinez Saballos, Mayor <br />Kaia Eakin, Vice Mayor <br />Isabella Chu, Council Member <br />Jeff Gee, Council Mom bw- <br />Diane Howard, Council Member <br />arrolla Padillaa,, Council Membor <br />r�iriar] `va"ubga <br />Chris Shrrkim, Council Member <br />
