DES:djk '07/89 (005/24)
DES:d. 0~/12/89R

RESOLUTION NO. P-1314

RESOLUTION DULY RECOGNIZING CERTAIN MARITIME
ACHIEVEMENTS OF PETER UCCELLI

WHEREAS, the Board of Port Commissioners of the City of
Redwood City is, under the Charter of the City of Redwood City,
responsible for promoting maritime commerce and navigation in the
City of Redwood City; and

WHEREAS, in carrying out its duties this Board has had
occasion, from time to time, to observe the activities of Peter
Uccelli as they affect commerce and navigation in the waterfront
areas of the City of Redwood City; and

WHEREAS, said activities include his due regard for
environmental interests by, for example, encouraging the aquatic
capabilities of the red-bellied marsh mouse by forcibly urging
that species to relocate in the waters of Redwood Creek; and

WHEREAS, his pursuit in maritime commerce led him to
establish the "Lands of Uccelli" as an independent trading nation
within the Port Area of the City of Redwood City; and

WHEREAS, although it is somewhat difficult for persons of a
certain political persuasion to obtain diplomatic recognition
from his m©narchical form of government, nevertheless said
government readily engages in commercial transactions without
discrimination whatsoever; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that this Board give due recognition
to Peter Uccelli, as leader of his own nation, for his efforts in
advancing maritime commerce in the Port Area, with particular
regard to his past efforts in repulsing the State of California
