• RJC:ek :1 /4/60 -8 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2 95 2 <br /> RESOLUTION STATING POSITION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY IN OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILLS NO. <br /> AB 2811 AND AB 330 <br /> WHEREAS, the Assembly Interim Committee on Public Utilities <br /> and Corporations is conducting hearings in Los Angeles on <br /> January 13th on certain Assembly bills and in particular on <br /> AB 2811 and AB 330 concerning the cost of relocation of public <br /> utility facilities; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee of the Council of the <br /> City of Redwood City has reviewed and submitted its report and <br /> recommendation in opposition to such proposed legislation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such proposed legislation would change the present <br /> law by placing an obligation on the City which is now and always <br /> has been the obligation of private utilities; <br /> NOWT, THEREFORE: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby find <br /> and determine that the abovementioned proposed legislation con- <br /> sisting of AB 2811 and AB 330 as said proposed bills presently <br /> read, is detrimental to the public welfare and constitutes an <br /> inequitable transfer to municipalities of obligations which <br /> always were and presently are an obligation of private utilities <br /> and that such legislation imposes on local taxpayers the <br /> financial burden of relocating public utility facilities in <br /> public rights of way; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby state <br /> its unqualified opposition to said AB 2811 and AB 330; and <br />
