REG: :1 �2 5 �60- 7 <br /> R E S O L U T I O N TAT 0. 2 971 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT WITH WILSEY, HAM AND <br /> BLAIR, A PRIVATE CORPORATION, FOR AN ENGINEERING AND <br /> ECONOMIC STUDY FOR A MAJOR STREET ROUTE, TOGETHER <br /> WITH NECESSARY GRADE SEPARATION STRUCTURES, FROM <br /> ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS TO THE BAYSHORE FREEWAY IN THE <br /> VICINITY OF WRIPPLE AVENUE AND HOPKINS AVENUE, AND <br /> AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT <br /> WHEREAS, in connection with the planning for the future <br /> development of the City of Redwood City, the necessity for a <br /> major east -west street between Alameda de las Pulgas and the <br /> Bayshore Highway has been established; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has found that the most feasible such <br /> route will require the improvement of either Whipple Avenue, <br /> Hopkins Avenue or a combination of each of these two streets; and <br /> WHEREAS, the consultant- engineering firm of Wilsey, Ham and <br /> Blair is skilled in the field of engineering and planning and is <br /> especially qualified to conduct a study to determine the relative <br /> advantages and disadvantages incident to improvement of either <br /> of the above mentioned streets; and <br /> WHEREAS, City desires to enter into an agreement with the <br /> firm of Wilsey, Ham & Blair to provide for the conducting of <br /> such study; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> RE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That certain agreement entitled "Agreement for Engineering <br /> and Planning Services, Alternative Location Study for Whipple - <br /> Hopkins Street Improvements," providing for a planning, engineering <br /> and economic study of major east -west street between Alameda de <br /> las Pulgas and the Bayshore Highway, including grade separation <br /> structures at El Camino Real and the Southern Pacific Railroad <br />
