Attachment <br />RESOLUTIO N No. - 1 L. <br />A RESOLUTION of INTENTION of THE PLANNING COMMISSION of THE <br />CITY of REDWOOD GITY INITIATING AN AMENDMENT To, AND <br />RECOMMENDING MME1 DING T THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY of REDWOOD CITY <br />ADOPTION OF, THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 601r ZONING <br />MAP No. 22 of ORDINANCE No. 1130, THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING <br />ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, ED, To REZONE PROPERTIES LOCATED WITHIN <br />THE PENINSULA PARK PRECISE PLAN AREA, AS FURTHER DESCRIBED IN <br />THIS RESOLUTION, FROM THE EXISTING GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING <br />DISTRICT TO THE PLANNED COMMUNITY DISTRICT, <br />WHEREAS, at a duly noticed public hearing on November 13, 2007, the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Redwood city ("Commission") sion" considered the initiation of an <br />amendment to rezone the properties (Assessor's Parcel Numbers 052-531 o 2- 531-o , <br />052-531-050 052-531-070, 052-531-100 052 --531 -1 '1 F 052-531-120) boated within the <br />Peninsula Park precise Plan Area, as - shorn on the map, which is attached as Attachment "A, <br />from the existing General Commercial "CG" Zoning District to. the Planned Community "Pa <br />Z oning District. <br />WHEREAS, at the aforementioned public hearing, the Commission also considered <br />recommending mending adoption of the proposed amendment, to rezone the properties located within <br />the Peninsula park Precise Plan Area as described above, to the City Council of the city of <br />Redwood City ("City Couin rlp: or "Council"). <br />WHEREAS, Article 41 of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance provides for the adoption <br />by the Commission of a resolution of intention to amend the Zoning Map and recommend <br />approval of the proposed rezone to the city council. <br />WHEREAS, this Commission, having considered the evidence, including the Addendum <br />to the certified Marina Shores Village MS Environmental Impact Report EIF , as well as the <br />originally certified MSV EI , received at the public hearing duly noticed and held to initiate and <br />to recommend approval to the city council of said proposed rezoning, finds that the proposed <br />rezoning is in the public interest and consistent with the purposes of the redwood city Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br />NO, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION of THE <br />CITY of REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1, The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby incorporated herein by <br />this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2. The Commission finds that the proposed rezoning is in the public interest and consistent <br />with the purposes of the Redwood City Zoning ordinance -based on the following reasons: <br />. The Laird Use element of the General Plan lists the first objective as to "protect <br />the integrity of existing single - family areas, and encourage home ownership in new <br />development, As proposed the Peninsula Park project achieves that objective by <br />incorporating 796 ownership units on an existing urban infili site.
