Chapter 27A is hereby added to the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "CHAPTER 27A. <br /> "STORMWATER MANAGEMENT AND DISCHARGE CONTROL PROGRAM <br /> <br /> "ARTICLE I. General. <br /> <br /> "Section 27A.1. Purpose and Intent. The purpose of <br /> this Chapter is to ensure the future health, safety, and <br /> general welfare of the citizens of the City of Redwood City <br /> by: <br /> <br /> 1. Eliminating non-storm water discharges to the <br /> municipal separate stormwater drainage <br /> system. <br /> <br /> 2. Controlling the discharge to municipal <br /> separate stormwater drainage system from <br /> spills, dumping or disposal of materials <br /> other than stormwater. <br /> <br /> 3. Reducing pollutants in stormwater discharges <br /> to the maximum extent practicable. <br /> <br /> The intent of this Chapter is to protect and enhance the <br /> water quality of our watercourses, water bodies, and <br /> wetlands in a manner pursuant to and consistent with the <br /> Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended, commonly <br /> known as the Clean Water Act (33 USC §1251 et seq.). <br /> <br /> "Section 27A.2. Chapter. This Chapter shall be known <br /> as the "City of Redwood City Stormwater Management and <br /> Discharge Control Program Ordinance" and may be so cited. <br /> <br /> <br />
