1/12/2004 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14569 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE <br />FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE <br />ROBERTI- Z'BERG- HARRIS BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE <br />CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD <br />PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 <br />WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California <br />Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 <br />which provides funds for the Roberti- Z'Berg- Harris Block Grant Program (the "Grant <br />Program "), and <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation (the <br />"Department ") has been delegated with the responsibility of administrating the Grant <br />Program within the State; and <br />WHEREAS, the Grant Program procedures established by the Department <br />require the governing body of a Grant Program applicant to certify, by resolution, the <br />approval of the filing of an application for the Grant Program allocation; and <br />WHEREAS, if awarded a Grant Program allocation, the City will enter into a <br />contract with the State of California for a specific project that is to be funded by the <br />grant; and <br />WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Redwood City desires to participate in <br />the Grant Program and apply for a Grant Program allocation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the filing of an application for local assistance funds from the Roberti - <br />Z'Berg- Harris Block Grant Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, <br />Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 is hereby <br />approved. <br />2.
