� <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2007 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Slusser, Vice Chairperson White, <br /> Commissioners Joseph-Hover, Sargent, Swope, and Wright <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Truscelli <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Senior Engineer Peter Vorametsanti, Architect Tim <br /> McKimson, 23 guests in audience <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Gary Hover, <br /> Administrative Assistant Denise Monroe <br /> Chairperson Bob Slusser called the regular meeting of the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission to order at 7:33pm in Room 5 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the October meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was no correspondence. <br /> ITEM 1 — PRESENTATION BY CITY ATTORNEY STAN YAMAMOTO <br /> REGARDING BOARD AND COMMISSION PARTICIPATION IN <br /> SALTWORKS PUBLIC OUTREACH PROCESS <br /> Director Centeno provided each of the Commissioners with a copy of a memo <br /> from the City Attorney's Office regarding the Commissioners participation in <br /> Saltworks community outreach meetings. She asked the Commissioners to <br /> review the memo and to direct any questions to the City Attorney's Office. <br /> ITEM 2 — PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF HOOVER PARK <br /> RENOVATION PLANS <br /> Superintendent Hover introduced Senior Engineer Peter Vorametsanti who <br /> spoke about the process followed to involve the public in the Hoover Park <br /> renovation project. He noted there were two public planning meetings held <br /> at Hoover Park and the biggest concern expressed was the need for more <br /> security. As a result, more lighting is being added to the design. <br /> Architect Tim McKimson spoke about the proposed improvements and <br /> reviewed the Hoover Park renovation plans with the Commissioners and <br /> audience. Improvements include two separate play areas with age <br />
