Section 3.1 is hereby added to Ordinance No. 437, entitled '�Ordina.nee Regulating Fire and Closing Out Sales in the City of Redwood City,'t a.dopted April 1, 19l�0, to read as follows: "SECTTON 3.1. INSPECTION DEPO�ST. No application for a permit or for the renewal of a permit shall be accepted unless it is accompanied by a cash deposit of One Hundred Dollara ��100.00}� to be applied to the cost of eny examina- tion, aud3t or inve9tigation of the applicantt � inventory required by the Council pursuant to Section 3. "If the Co�.ncil provides for such an examination, audit or investigation of the applica�t+s inventor;�, thsre ahall subsequently be deducted t'rorn the deposit � sum equal to the actual cost of eonducting such examination, audit or inves- tigation. The amount deducted shall not, however, e,xceed an amount equal to Three and 50�100 Dollars (�3.54} per hour for each emplogee or agent of the City who is actuallg en- gaged on the applicantts premises in the ma.king of sueh exam- ination, audit or investigation. The balance of the sum de- posited shall bs ref'u.nded to the applicant within thirty t30} days of the term3.nation of his permit. In the event the ex- amina.tion, audi� or in�estigation expenses eaee�d the amount of the deposit no additional deposit shall be required.
