DES.ek 2/12/68 <br />R E S O L U T I O N N 0. <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT AMENDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AND SAN MATEO COUNTY SCAVENGER COMPANY RELATING <br />TO INCREASE IN RATES AND METHOD OF RATE DETERMINATION <br />FOR GARBAGE AND REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County <br />Scavenger Company on July 1, 1957 entered into an agreement <br />for garbage and refuse collection services by said company; and <br />WHEREAS, said company has requested an increase in the <br />collection rates set forth in said agreement and modification <br />in the method of rate determination, and has submitted a financial <br />analysis setting forth its operational costs prepared by the firm <br />of Ernst & Ernst, certified public accountants; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been recommended to this Council that based <br />on said representations and financial analysis, certain rate <br />increases be granted and rate determination be based upon the <br />operating ratio method; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council <br />to approve and authorize the amendment of said agreement of <br />July 1, 1957, to provide for the increase of certain collection <br />rates and modification of method of rate determination; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. This Council hereby finds and determines in accordance <br />with the terms of the above mentioned agreement that the proposed <br />rates are fair to the residents of the City and are justified. <br />2. That certain agreement entitled "Amendment to Agreement" <br />by and between the City of Redwood City and San Mateo County <br />Scavenger Company, a copy of which is presently on file in <br />the office of the City Clerk to which copy reference is made <br />
