DES:mf 3/17/82 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 3.74.1 TO, AND MENDING <br />SECTION 3.101 OF, ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 3 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ("THE REDWOOD <br />CITY SIGN ORDINANCE") RELATING TO THE DEFINITION <br />OF "SHOPPING CENTER" AND THE MAXIMUM AL 14ABLE <br />NUMBER OF FREE STANDING SIGNS, RESPECTIVELY <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />ORIGINAL <br />APR 5 1982 <br />SECTION 1. Section 3.74.1 is hereby added to the Code of the City <br />of Redwood City to read as follows: <br />"SECTION 3.74.1. Same - Shopping Center. The wards "Shopping <br />Center" shall mean the real property and improvements comprised of <br />a group of two or more retail stores served by a common parking lot <br />for the use of the patrons of such stores." <br />SECTION 2. Section 3.101 of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"SECTION 3.101. Same - Maximum Number per Parcel or Shopping <br />Center. Not more than one free standing sign shall <br />be placed or maintained on any parcel of real property in one <br />ownership, or on the real property of any Shopping Center; <br />provided, however, that if the area of such parcel or Shopping <br />Center exceeds five (5) acres and the public access thereto is <br />from two or more street frontages, the number of free standing <br />signs which may be erected thereon shall be one per each five <br />(5) acres or portion thereof, but in no event more than three <br />(3) such signs." <br />SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br />its adoption. <br />
