M. by- Chairman <br />Spinas; absent, Commissioners Stiles and Vanderborden. . <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of March 25, 1941, were <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: None. - <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />From Kenneth L. Bowen, Secretary of the Third Annual Redwood <br />City July Fourth Celebration, requesting the Recreation Commission <br />to ask the Council to authorize e~enditure of ~proximately $50 <br />for equipment to make the city's existing loudspeaker facilities' <br />suita~e for use at the coming July 4th cel~Mtion. , <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />~ . <br /> <br />Commissioner Donald Bogie, chairman of the Budget Committee, <br />s~mitted the Recreation Department budget for'the ensuing <br />fiscal year. <br /> <br />Commissioner Eva reported that a Red Cross representative <br />had made a survey of our swimming facilities _at the Yacht Harbor <br />and made certain recommendations. - The commission is to receive <br />written report from the representative within the near future. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Mec that the budget as submitted by Commissioner Donald <br />Bogie be approved and submitted to the City Manager for his <br />consideration. <br /> <br />MSC that the budget committee be directed to reconsider <br />the budget and arrange in their relative value the items listed,- <br />particularly in regard to capital outlay. Carried. <br /> <br />. A nominating committee consisting of. Commissioners Hagan <br />and Smith was appointed by Chairman Spinae, the election ot <br />new officers to take place at- the May meeting. . <br /> <br />It was agreed by the members present that ,the July and <br />August meetings of the Commission be held upon. call of the <br />chairman. <br /> <br />MSC that the Recreation Commissio-n recommend to the City <br />Council approximately $50 be spent from the Special Recreation <br />Fund to make the city's existing-loudspeaker facilities suit- <br />~le for use at the coming July ~h celebration, in compliance <br />with the request of the Redwood City July Fourth Celebration <br />Committee. <br /> <br />\ <br />
