<br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting, September 23,1947. <br /> <br />The regular meeting was called to order by ChairmanSpinas <br />at 7:40 P. M. Present were Co~nissioners H. M. Scales, J. H. <br />Poole, R. MacIntosh, C. Baume, A. B. Robb, R. Case, D. Bogie, and <br />A. . S p i na s . <br /> <br />Mr. Morton was unable to be present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A discussion on the rejection of the low bid for the recreation <br />building was held. No action was taken. <br /> <br />Commissioner Poole moved that a letter be written to the city <br />maĆger (copies to city cowcn me~ers) suggesting it would be a <br />good time to turf the Hawes Park and Community Park diamonds now <br />that softball and baseball seasons are over. The motion was seconde <br />and carried. <br /> <br />Commissioner Poole suggested that money derived from Calif- <br />ornia Square be used for purchase of property to square off the <br />Chestnut Street playground. <br /> <br />A motion was made, seconded, and carried that a letter of <br />appreciation for all the help given to the Commission be sent to <br />city manager Blom. <br /> <br />. Commissioner MacIntosh wondered if the Recreation Commission <br />should do anything åbout the problem of Redwood Creek.
