' <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission held their regular meeting Aug. 5 <br />1964, in the Conference Room at the Veterans Memorial Building. Noted <br /> <br /> <br />'" ' <br /> <br />present: Maurice Schutz, Alyn Beals, Jim Knecht, Doris Thompson and <br />Louise Tornell. Noted absent: Stan Sugarman and Robert Whitmore. <br />Also present: Alfred Morton, Pasco Balzarini, Don Dimitratos, Bill <br />Henry and Dick Wilkinson. <br /> <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 8, 1964 meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Bill Henry of the Stanford University Sailing Association requested <br />permission to erect a cyclone fence next to the Stanford Crew Association <br />Building at no expense to the City. To be used for dry sDorage. MSC <br />Beals and Schutz. <br /> <br />Letter received from City Manager regarding the__aligning of the creek <br />in Community Park. Park and Recreation Commission recommends removal <br />of dirt from Community Park in conjunction with straightening of creek. <br /> <br />Progress reported on the Community Center Building on Baird property <br /> <br />Red Morton reported that the survey sent to Friendly Acres will be <br />completed August 5th. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission requests that speed traps be installed <br />in Community Park on Dickey Street Parking. <br /> <br />Park Department won second prize at San Mateo Fiesta for Public <br />Park Living Theme. <br /> <br />MSC Doris Thompson and Louise Tornell that area at Winslow and Fuller <br />be named William Goggin Parkway. Letter to City Manager. <br /> <br />Dick Wilkinson, Planning Director, led a discussion and made a present- <br />ation regarding proposed park site acquisition in Redwood City for the <br />future. This matter to be studied further. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />
