Recreation Department - monthly reports for October and November received 13 - !LO~JABJÆ - Discussion on old or new business by Commissioners, Director of Recreation, Park Superintendent, G.A.P. Commissioner Stuart complimented his counterpart, Mary Cortez, on her successful participation in the Striders competition. Mary noted she had come in 45th in the national competition of 150. Mr. Stuart noted that Dave Willi~ and Terri Lipman had been at .the Marlin Park Dedication. Dave Willis inquired why gym wasn't open before 3 p.m.--said students from CSM and Canada would, use if it was opened earlier. Mr. Morton will check on the possibility of .opening prior to 3 p.m. Carol Franke inquired on places to pract.ice archery and- was advi sed that the only place in ,the City at this time was at Sequoia, that t.here were facilit.ies at Hoover School at one time but that they had been torn down.
