<br />----- <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 1987 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson, Vice-chairman Buchan, <br />Commissioners Howard, Kingsford-Smith, <br />Mortensen, and Weiss. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioners Nordness and Swope <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Superintendent Hartman <br />and Secretary Frei <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and <br />Superintendent Hartman administered the oath of office to newly' <br />appointed Commissioner Jeff Weiss. The minutes of March 11, 1987 and <br />April 25, 1987 were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR RED MORTON CENTER <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson had requested staff to find out names of architects <br />that have designed sports/gym facilities to be considered for Red <br />Morton Center. Staff is in the process of obtaining such and will <br />report back to the Commission at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson suggested an article in the fall brochure regarding <br />the deteriorated condition of the Center. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - JULY 4TH PARADE <br /> <br />Thompson Toyota will be donating the use of an antique fire truck for <br />the Park and Recreaton Commissioners to ride in for the Parade. New <br />Commissioners Howard and Weiss were asked to make the banner for the <br />truck. Staff was asked to determine if the fire truck could be <br />stored at the Municipal Services Center the Friday night before the <br />Parade. It was discussed selling the 50th Anniversary history books <br />at the Parade, however, logistics needed to worked out. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - FacC REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br /> <br />Chairman Anderson and Vice-chairman Buchan were on the architectural <br />selection committee for the TEWCI senior addition to the Fair Oaks <br />Community Center. The committee was unable to break a tie vote and <br />the decision was therefore turned back to staff. The two firms in <br />consideration are Design and Engineering Systems, Inc. and Community <br />Design Collaborative. NOTE: Community Design Collaborative has been <br />selected to design the addition to FacC. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - JULY 11, BAPRCBMC <br /> <br />Vice-chairman Buchan said details of the dinner were not yet <br />confirmed and that a setting was still being discussed. <br /> <br /> <br />" . <br /> <br />. , " <br />
