<br />REG:yc:2/1/65-7 <br /> <br />~ ~ <br />L/ LI) -'----'-'-_ <br />)1/L~.'t. /, .I '7 b ~ <br /> <br />o R DIN A N C E <br />--------- <br /> <br />~. _ 1182 <br />N o. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 4.9 THROUGH 4.16 <br />OF, AND ADDING SECTIONS 4.15 THROUGH 4.24 TO, <br />THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING <br />TO PUBLIC DANCE S , <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REm'WOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Sections 4.9 through 4.16 of the Code of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Sections 4.15 through 4.24 are hereby added to <br /> <br />Article II of Chapter 4 of the Code of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 4.15 <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person <br /> <br />to conduct or operate a public dance, to permit dancing by <br /> <br />the public in any establishment operated by such person <br /> <br />and open to the general public, or to sell tickets for <br /> <br />any public dance unless a public dance permit is first <br /> <br />secured pursuant to this article. <br /> <br />"Section 4.16 <br /> <br />The term 'Public Dance' shall include <br /> <br />any dance open to the general public whether or not a fee <br /> <br />is charged therefor, including dancing permitted in con- <br /> <br />nection with any commercial activity that is open to the <br /> <br />general public. <br /> <br />liThe provisions of this article shall not apply to <br /> <br />any religious, fraternal or other organization that holds <br /> <br />at least one regular meeting each month which conducts a <br /> <br />dance for the principal benefit of its membership. <br /> <br />"Section 4.17 <br /> <br />(a) Applications for a public dance <br /> <br />permit shall be filed with the Chief of Police on forms <br /> <br />furnished by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />"(b) Every dance permit application shall be accompanied <br /> <br />\r-b <br />~ <br />q:t) <br />~">. <br />
