27100 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 13826 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />ESTABLISHING THE ALCOHOL VIOLATION TEMPORARY <br />AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 11738, adopted April <br />27, 1992, this Council approved a Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the Alcohol <br />Violation Temporary Authority; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11995, adopted June 7, 1993, this <br />Council entered into a First Amended Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the Alcohol <br />Violation Temporary Housing Authority; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 12224, adopted June 27, 1994, this <br />Council entered into a Second Amended Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the <br />Alcohol Violation Temporary Housing Authority; and <br />WHEREAS, a Third Amendment to the Amended Joint Powers Agreement (the <br />'Third Amendment') has been presented to, and reviewed by, this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, under the Third Amendment, the parties thereto shall continue to <br />provide an alternative method of caring for certain persons accused of violations of law <br />based on the use of alcohol in lieu of incarceration: and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to continue its affiliation with the <br />County of San Mateo, Town of Atherton, City of Belmont, City of Foster City, City of Half <br />Reso -818 1 <br />R /Sha red/Redwood /Council <br />DES:djk <br />01/31/00 <br />
