<br />SvJC :wb 8/14/80 <br /> <br />ORfGrNAL <br /> <br />AUG 1 8 1980 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR RECEIPT OF <br />FUNDS FOR SENIOR PROGRAMS <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />866S <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, <br /> <br />California, has designated itself the Area Agency on Aging for San <br /> <br />Mateo County and has undertaken the administration of a program to <br /> <br />foster the development of comprehensive and coordinated service <br /> <br />systems to older persons pursuant to the Older Americans Act of <br /> <br />1965, as amended (Pub. L. 89-73; 42 U.S.C. Sec. 3001 et seq.); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging is entitled to receipt of <br /> <br />certain funds as determined by the State of California Department <br /> <br />of Aging in its State plan approved by the Federal Administration on <br /> <br />Aging, which funds are available for the operation of senior programs <br /> <br />pursuant to the aforementioned Older Americans Act of 1965; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council an agreement <br /> <br />with the Area Agency on Aging for the funding of two senior programs <br /> <br />in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of this Council to approve said <br /> <br />agreement for said funding; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and the <br /> <br />Area Agency on Aging of the County of San Mateo, entitled "Area <br /> <br />Agency on Aging Agreement,i1 pursuant to the terms of which the City <br /> <br />of Redwood City will receive Nineteen Thousand and No/IOO Dollars <br /> <br />($19,000.00) for its operation of the Information and Referral and <br /> <br />Outreach Programs,a copy of which agreement is on file in the office <br /> <br />of the City Clerk and to which copy reference is hereby made for <br /> <br />8665 <br />
