03/07/2011 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2363 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, SECTIONS 14.1, 14.13, <br /> 14.15 AND 14,25, AND REPEALING SECTIONS 14.7 AND 14.8 <br /> OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> RELATING TO REFUSE RECEPTACLES <br /> WHEREAS, the collection, removal, and disposal of solid waste and <br /> recyclable materials must be controlled by the City of Redwood City ("City") for <br /> the protection of public health, safety, and welfare; and <br /> WHEREAS, definitions and requirements set forth in Articles I and II of <br /> Chapter 14 of the Redwood City Municipal Code govern the type and placement <br /> of receptacles for the collection of solid waste and recyclables; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 24, 2009, the Council adopted Resolution No. <br /> 14965 approving the Franchise Agreement for Collection Services of Recyclable <br /> Materials, Organic Materials, and Solid Waste with Recology San Mateo County <br /> ("AgreemenY'); and <br /> WHEREAS, the type and placement of receptacles for the collection of <br /> solid waste and recyclables have changed pursuant to the Agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 14.1 of the Municipal Code of the City of Redwood City is <br /> hereby amended, by adding the text shown in bold italics (examp/e) and deleting <br /> the text shown in strikeout (e�a+�aple), as follows: <br /> Sec.14.1.
