05/18/2020 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15842 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON <br />HARRISON AVENUE AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH CLINTON <br />STREET <br />WHEREAS, the Policy and Guidelines for Stop Signs on Residential Streets <br />(Guidelines) has been adopted by the City of Redwood City to provide uniform <br />standards for stop -sign control on residential streets; and <br />WHEREAS, The Guidelines state that the use of multi -way stop signs on <br />residential streets should satisfy the following critieria: <br />• The total volume on the major (busier) street approaches is at least 1,000 <br />vehicles per day, but no more than 4,000; and <br />• The total volume on the minor street approaches is at least 900 vehicles <br />per day; and <br />• When the highest 8 -hour approach volume (total of both approaches) on <br />the minor street is greater than 30% of the total volume on all approaches for the <br />same 8 hours, and the total 8 -hour approach volume for all approaches average <br />at least 250 vehicles per hour, and no other stop sign or traffic signal on the <br />major street is located within 800 feet; and <br />WHEREAS, City staffs investigation has confirmed the existence of these <br />conditions at the subject site. <br />ATTY/RESO.0031/CC RESO HARRISON AVE—CLINTON ST STOP SIGNS RESO.
