<br />/31 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N NO. 184 <br /> <br />COORDINATION OF CITY .AND C01J1ITY PLANNING IN <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, some coordination between the Planning Commissions <br /> <br />of San Mateo County and the individual cities and towns within said <br />county is desirable to promote a better county-wide solution of <br /> <br />planning problems, particularly where there is a common interest <br /> <br />of one or more ci ties or to\ms and the coun ty, or of two or more <br /> <br />cities or towns, and <br /> <br />WHERFAS, the Peninsula Division of the League of California <br /> <br /> <br />Cities is an appropriate organization through which such coordination <br /> <br />of planning may be initiated and established, <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE"IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City approve a request that such matter be placed on the <br />agenda for the next meeting of said Peninsula Division, and that <br />said Division, or the portion thereof representing cities and towns <br /> <br />in San Mateo County, be urged to sponsor such coordination and to <br /> <br />appoint a committee of five representatives to meet, consider what <br /> <br />proposals are appropriate to attain such coordinated planning, and <br /> <br />whether to request the Board of Supervisors of said county to <br /> <br /> <br />increase the technical engineering staff of its Planning Commission <br /> <br />by one or two additional members whose services would be avai~ble <br />to the Planning Commissions of said cities and towns, preferably <br />without cost to such cities and towns, as health service is now <br /> <br />rendered or, if necessary, at a cost proportional to the population <br /> <br />or the assessed value of each city or town, or upon any other equi- <br /> <br />table and fair basis, and that such comrrlittee be also authorized <br /> <br />to appear before said Board of Supervisors of said county before <br /> <br />the budget for 1945-1946 is completed and, in the name of said <br /> <br />Division of said League and the city members thereof in San Mateo <br /> <br />County, urge that appropriate action be taken to accomplish the <br /> <br />action herein requested. <br /> <br />FURTm~R RESOLVW tha t a copy of this resolution, certi- <br /> <br />fied by the City Clerk, be sent to the Secretary of said Division <br />of said I..teague. <br />
