<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />No. <br /> <br />5" <br /> <br />ENDORSING THE PROGRAM OF THE AMERICAN HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS the week of March 10th to 17th has been declared <br />by the Honorable Mayor of the City of Redwood City as re-dedieation <br />week and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City approves <br />wholeheartedly the program objectives of the American Heritage <br />Foundation <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City that the citizens of Redwood City support the follow- <br />ing program objectives of the American Heritage Foundation: <br />I <br /> <br />1. A more active participation br citizens in the processes <br />of, democracy in nation, state and community, and in fulfilling the <br />duties of American citizenship <br /> <br />2. An increased awareness of our individual rights and <br />liberties as guaranteed by the Federal Constitution and expressed <br />in other historical documents <br /> <br />3. An augmented pride in our past and in our accomplishments <br />as a people and <br /> <br />4. A wider recognition of our obligations to the world to <br />maintain our freet: insti tutions as an example of democracy pre- <br />serving the rights and dignity of the individual. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the citizens of Redwodd City <br />lend financial support to the American Heritage Foundation and <br />the Freedom train in so far as it is possible for them to do so. <br /> <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the <br />foregoing resolution. Councilmen: Britschgi, Holmquist, Swift, '-lerder <br />and Hilton. <br />NOES, and opposed to the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br />resolution.
