I am resident of Redwood City and live in District 1, which includes the only relevant
pedestrian mall currently in operation within Redwood City. I support efforts to eliminate smoking in all forms in
public places, including this amendment. While I do not think it goes far enough—contrary to some comments I
think there should in fact be better, stronger plans for enforcement and it seems all but assured the existing exempt
businesses will somehow find a way to continue to operate when the delayed enforcement ends which somewhat
curiously defeats the purpose—it is better than nothing.
I support the amendment and hope that it passes.
Sincerely,
Chris Civil
