ATTY/ORD.0004/CC ORD AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE (FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES) <br />REV: 05-06-25 MI <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />ORDINANCE NO.2548 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY RETITLING AND AMENDING REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE <br />SECTION 12.7.1 REGARDING DESIGNATION OF FIRE HAZARD <br />SEVERITY ZONES <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby retitles and <br />adopts the amendments to Redwood City Municipal Code Section 12.7.1 by adding the <br />text shown in underline (example) and deleting the text shown in strikeout (example), as <br />shown below. <br />Section 12.7.1 – VERY HIGH DESIGNATION OF FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES <br />MAP: <br />The City Council hereby adopts and designates the most recent Very High Fire <br />Hazard Severity Zones map Fire Hazard Severity Zones as recommended by the Director <br />of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and as designated on map <br />titled “Redwood City – Fire Hazard Map” dated February 24, 2025, and retained on file, <br />or via the internet, and made available at the offices of the Fire Chief and Building Official <br />of the City of Redwood City. The map is also available electronically on the following <br />website: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:va6c2:7164ab2f-efc9-43fc-b8af- <br />8b444d46a392.Buildings and structures shall comply with the provisions as stipulated by <br />the Fire Marshal, the California Building Code Chapter 7A, or the California Residential <br />Code Section R337. <br />SECTION 2. The Ordinance has been reviewed with respect to applicability of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) and State CEQA Guidelines. Adoption of <br />this Ordinance is exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3), because it can be <br />seen with certainty that there is no possibility that adoption of the Ordinance may have a <br />significant effect on the environment. <br />SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for <br />any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining <br />portion or sections of the Ordinance. The City Council declares that it would have adopted <br />the Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase thereof <br />irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, <br />or phrases be declared unconstitutional.
