RES0LUT I0N N0. 1845 <br />OPP'OSING H.R. 2388 RELATIVE TO HETCH HETCHY <br />POWER SITE. <br />RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the City of Redwood City obtains all of its <br />water for the domestic and industrial use of its inhabitants <br />from the City and County of San Francisco. <br />2. That the City of Redwood City serves water to a <br />population of approximately forty thousand (40,000). <br />3. That the passage of H.R. 2388 by the Congress of the <br />United States as proposed by Representative CLAIR ENGLE will <br />result in higher water costs to the City of Redwood City due <br />to the unnecessary deprivation of the City and County of San <br />Francisco of the right to develop revenue from the power sites <br />referred to in said H.R. 2388. <br />4. That the Council of Redwood City hereby registers <br />its opposition to H.R. 2388 and urges that it not be adopted <br />into law. <br />5. That the Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby <br />directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the <br />House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs and to Congress- <br />man J. .Arthur Younger. <br />
