! 4111 DES:yc :2 /24/71 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> FEB 25 '71 <br /> RE SOLUT I ON NO. 6 9 6 Z - <br /> RESOLUTION DECLARING, PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE <br /> SECTION 25643, THAT FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES ARE <br /> PROVIDED WITHIN THE CITY'S JURISDICTION <br /> WHEREAS, Section 25643 of the Government Code of the State <br /> of California, as amended by Chapter 610, Statutes of 1970, <br /> provides that every city which provides its own fire protection <br /> services may file a resolution with the board of supervisors <br /> so declaring, and thereafter shall not be assessed for certain <br /> county fire protection services; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to so act pursuant <br /> to said Section 25643; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That this Council hereby finds, determines and declares <br /> that the City of Redwood City is providing fire protection <br /> services within its jurisdiction. <br /> 2. That the aforesaid finding, determination and declara- <br /> tion is made pursuant to the provisions of Government Code <br /> Section 25643 and that therefore the area within said jurisdiction <br /> shall not be assessed during the fiscal year 1971 -1972, or any <br /> year thereafter, for any portion of the costs of County fire <br /> protection services. <br /> 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed <br /> to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of <br /> Supervisors of the County of San Mateo. <br />
