• CGM:lt :12 /7/72 <br />fEB 12 '73 <br />RESOLUT ION NO. 6868 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING FILING OF APPLICATION <br />WITH METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR DISBURSEMENT <br />OF FUNDS FOR TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS OF REDWOOD CITY <br />MUNICIPAL TRANSIT SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS, Article 4 (commencing with Section 99260) of Chapter 4 <br />of Part 11 of Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code (the Mills - <br />Alquist-Deddeh Act) provides for the disbursement of funds from the <br />local transportation fund of the County of San Mateo for use by <br />qualified municipal applicants to meet capital and operating require- <br />ments for.the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of <br />public transportation systems and for public transportation research <br />and demonstration grants; and <br />WHEREAS, this City owns and operates a public transportation <br />system serving the city and vicinity; and <br />WHEREAS, funds are required to provide for the improvement of <br />the Redwood City Municipal Transit System, consistent with the <br />legislative findings and purposes of the aforesaid act; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY,_ <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br />file a claim pursuant to the provisions of Article 4 of Chapter 4 of <br />Part 11 of Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code, together with <br />all necessary supporting documents, with the Metropolitan Trans- <br />portation Commission for funds to be used for the improvement of <br />the Redwood City Municipal Transit System in accordance with the <br />aforesaid Mills- A.3.quist- Deddeh Act during fiscal year July 1, 1973 <br />through June 30, 1974. <br />
