DES:djk 0e/01/95 (033/9) <br /> -J0 R I G I N A L ~/28/95 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2097 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18A.4 OF THE CODE OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS FROM <br /> MASSAGE REGULATIONS <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Section 18A.4 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follow: <br /> <br /> "Section 18A.4. Exemptions. The permits required by <br /> this Article shall not apply to hospitals, nursing homes, <br /> sanitaria, body-building or gymnastic or similar athletic <br /> studios or clubs not engaged in massage or bath as a <br /> principal function, persons holding an unrevoked certificate <br /> or license to practice the healing arts, including <br /> physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, osteopaths, physical <br /> therapists, and nurses, duly licensed barbers or <br /> cosmetologists, trainers of any amateur, semi-professional <br /> or professional athlete or athletic team, or persons working <br /> under the direction of any such persons or in any of such <br /> establishments." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. If any word, clause, phrase, or other portion of <br />this ordinance is adjudged invalid or ineffective by any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, all remaining words, clauses, phrases, or <br />portions shall be deemed severable from said invalid or <br />ineffective provision, and shall be severable therefrom. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) <br />days from the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
